This month we launched two big new features as well as publishing several new articles to help you improve your website speed.
CrUX Trends Dashboard
Want to see how fast your website is compared to your competitors? Our new CrUX Trends dashboard shows you domain-wide data for the last 25 weeks based on Google's Chrome User Experience Report.
Dark Mode
We've received a lot of user requests for dark mode over time. Now we've finally shipped it!
Coming next month: faster CPUs for lab tests
We've kept our monitoring infrastructure consistent over the last 6 years, but on 1 January we'll be moving to faster CPUs in most of our test regions. You'll see improved scores as a result of this.
Why this change?
- Our CPUs will be closer to a typical user CPU
- PageSpeed Insights recently changed their CPU throttling causing a metric change in the same direction
- Some of our test regions already use the faster CPUs, and after this change all regions will be comparable
- Test results should be slightly more consistent over time, especially if the main thread on a website is typically very busy
